Social Networking and Geotagged Information

February 2012

Social Networking gives access to a collective database. We are exploring the use of geo-tagged digital information that people can share online. For example, a growing number of photo-sharing websites contain geo-tagged images.

People carry pictures in their wallets, on their mobile phones, and splash them on their computer desktops. Many of these pictures can be associated with a specific location and stored online. We aim to simplify navigation destination entry by allowing the user to select a pictorial representation of a location instead of using text input. Geo-tagged digital information can be transported to the vehicle wirelessly or via removable storage.
